Anuj doesn't treat experiences as something to enjoy after success. He schedules them in advance so they become the motivation to stay focused and get things done.
Whether it's a tennis Grand Slam, a family ski trip, or a music festival years away, having a concrete next thing to look forward to creates natural urgency and discipline at work.
To be truly present on a trip, you have to make sure your team can run without you. Joy, for Anuj, became the engine behind building a stronger, more self-sufficient team.
A core operating principle: decisions shouldn't wait on him. Empowering his team to act keeps momentum going whether he's in the office or not.
When you don't schedule downtime, you arrive at it unprepared, overwhelmed, or too late. Planning ahead prevents the scramble.
"Work goes without saying, but once you feel like you're rolling, how do you keep going? For me, that became having these little goals at the end of it. I always have something to look forward to."
— Anuj Jasani
Reflection Prompt
When you look at your calendar right now, is there something genuinely joyful, not just a deadline, that you're looking forward to?
